Astronomers of the Future    Astronomers of the Future

“Astronomers of the Future” is a new club, set up in July 2010, by husband and wife team, Linda and Duncan Lunan,  for beginners who are keen to find out more about astronomy and space.

Astronomers of the Future’ intends to fill a gap by catering to beginners – of all ages, but separately for young people and adults - providing a basic course and regular meetings on astronomy and space, with talks and activities supplemented by observing nights and visits, including events at other societies where appropriate.

Members will then be able to join other societies without feeling out of place or out of their depth, thereby gaining more enjoyment and benefit from them, and later can help to inspire new astronomers of the future in their turn.

The club will be run by committee and draw on the experience and expertise of volunteer helpers. All participants will hold Enhanced Disclosures as STEMNET Science Ambassadors, and registering with STEMNET will be a condition for volunteers to take part in our programme.
